There are three bat boxes on the cedar by the pond.  They  are arranged in  a triad, facing different ways so that the bats can find one that suits them, depending on the wind direction etc.  These boxes are summer roosts for the bats.  In the winter they will congregate in larger communal roosts in church roofs, caves etc.
